I welcome this opportunity to connect with you. It is my goal to do my best to serve you and your children’s education and to enrich Catholic Education.
The HCDSB is currently undergoing a pupil accommodation review for Northeast Oakville. The schools involved include St. John, St. Michael, Holy Family, St. Marguerite D’Youville, St. Andrew, and Our Lady of Peace. More information about this pupil accommodation review will be communicated to parents and available online at: schoolplanning.hcdsb.org.
Last year at this time of Remembrance, I successfully introduced with Trustee Quinn, a motion to recognize January 27th as International Holocaust Awareness Day at HCDSB. This motion has now been adopted by 6 other Catholic School Boards in Ontario, reaching over 140,000 students in Ontario. This year, I am honoured to be representing HCDSB, along with Trustee Quinn, on the Compassion2Action Educational Mission with the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust studies to Auschwitz as well as other sites related to WWII and the holocaust. I will be endeavouring to connect with the school community on an ongoing basis to share the important lessons we learn.
I was very happy to witness the achievements of so many of our students at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Awards Ceremony. I wish to extend my congratulations to the communities of St. Thomas Aquinas and Holy Trinity as well. I encourage and applaud all students to continue to strive to do their personal best in all their varied endeavours and pathways.
Please feel free to always contact me with your suggestions, comments or concerns.
Wishing you all of God’s blessings for your families.
